CHRISTMAS, A TIME OF CONTEMPLATE THE FACE OF GOD

I've been meditating too much to talk about the mystery of Christmas. and missing a few days to the biggest Christian celebration around the world, as the Boy-God came to dwell among humanity, between His creation, for a purpose of redemption and restoration of the "Imago Dei" in men.

Heaven is opened, and to be exposed, we see the face of God. But it presents a tremendous mystery, to see the face of God. As well we see the face of God, if it is written that: "no one ever contemplated the face of the Lord" (John 1:18, 6:46)? From the mystery of Christmas, the relationship between man and God shoot is redone and recast. Now no longer as in Eden, for there, the Lord heard the man and walked with him, but nothing is said about "seeing His face." Moses, Isaiah, John and other characters of Christian history, talk about their amazement at being before the Lord's presence, before the God who made heaven and earth, without even contemplate his face. However, from the Christmas mystery, the face of God is revealed, because, "became flesh and dwelt among us" (John 1:14). God became man, that is, the child born in Bethlehem itself is Immanuel (God with us), and from this "child" we have finally the heaven is revealed, then removed the veil that covered the face of God, we can contemplate it in the figure of Jesus Christ, God turned into man.

We're not talking about a repeated proposal, no one speaks of something common at Christmas, because taking the birth of a child, and that happen all the time, what, exactly is the birth of the one who made everything, who gives life, now He himself, let it now be donated to men. The face of God is shown to us, and the figure of the baby arrived, all people of the world are resumed in the way to Bethlehem, the road that leads to the face of God. And what you see on the face of this infant? The angels announced "God," pastors "the Savior," magicians "God-King", and each of us is apparently given the chance to contemplate in subjectivity, what seems the face of God. But it is clear that this is possible, since this baby came to every man and woman in particular, because its birth proclaims salvation and redemption shared to all who come to the manger. Nothing is asked to draw closer to the manger and glimpse the face of God, was his desire, so why He became man, and yet His desire is, that every man and woman, regardless of where you are, and who is, draw nearer to the manger to behold his face.

We live in a time where many claim to know how God's face is, many propose to know the face of God, and many paths to this point that supposed face. We think that much of what is said about this face, that path, which seems a safest path to be followed, is the way to Bethlehem. There was announced that a boy born in, and that this child would be the duties of God himself, it being "Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Prince of Peace, Everlasting Father" (Isaiah 9:6). The road to Bethlehem leads us to encounter the face of God, without indifference, without resistance, without restrictions or regulations on how to draw close to her, not asked this, not asking good clothes, is not required to be rich or poor, black or white, just a call which the angels joyously sang "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men" (Luke 2:14), an announcement that sings, touch and welcomes everyone who somehow allowed to hear this call, the call to contemplate the baby of Bethlehem, and saw him, so seeing the face of God.
